Privacy

This page explains what data Satellites Tonight collects when you visit. In short: we do not ask for, sell or share personal information, and there are no accounts or sign-ups.
What is collected
- Server logs. Like every web server, ours records each request (IP address, time, page, browser user agent and referrer) in access logs used for security and troubleshooting. They are deleted after 14 days.
- Umami analytics. We count visits with a self-hosted copy of Umami, an open-source analytics tool. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses; it records the page, referrer, country, device type and browser in aggregate.
- Your browser. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. If you press “Near me”, your browser shares your position with the page only; the nearest city is worked out on your device and your location is never sent to us.
What we do not do
- No advertising trackers or social-media pixels.
- No selling or renting of data.
- No fonts, maps or scripts loaded from third parties other than those listed above.
Advertising
If the site starts to show ads, this page will be updated first to name the ad partner, the cookies it uses and how to opt out.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and does not knowingly collect information from children.
